Danny’s Taco Truck in Los Angeles
Danny’s Taco Truck in Los Angeles. Downtown LA is the food truck capital of the world. I didn’t try it. I wish I had. Downtown LA is famous for Taco trucks. Food trucks are on every corner almost. Some are of course better than others.
When I researched for this article, the food truck industry had grown to a 2.7 billion dollar industry. When I was working at a shop in the valley, there used to be a guy named Chewie. He used to come by the shop for our break time. I used to joke and tell him that he was on break all day. Everywhere he went he’d be there for break time. He’d be outside the truck taking money, and giving back change and would laugh and tell us jokes. He was a really nice food truck guy. I’d like to hear he did well with his food truck business.
With the good comes the bad I guess, and so there used to be another guy that used to come to the same shop but he used to harass us and call us names. We were a pretty rowdy group of guys as it were so he must have thought he was in on it or something, but he never really tried to be our friend, he’d just yell obscenities at us and try to make us buy ice cream. He had an ice cream truck. Once, he pulled up and got out to start his spiel. Before he could get out, he was pulled out, and we took his truck for a joy ride. Hard to believe that’s how crazy things got, but they did. We used to drive his truck all around the industrial complex, honking the horn, driving wreckless. He used to go ape shit crazy. I broke his windshield out by accident once. I felt bad about that. I was doing stunts at the time and just went right thru the front windshield as he pulled into the complex one time. It cost me $300 to fix it.
